General Summary: The Program Director provides professional guidance to all the Intensive Outpatient Program (Crossroads IOP) and assumes responsibility for the care of all Intensive Outpatient Program patients utilizing the Nursing Process.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides program development and implementation by developing treatment program with input from other clinical staff. Implements and monitors the program and modifies as needed to assure that patient’s needs are met.
  • Develops and implements a Quality Improvement program with assistance from clinical staff by taking an active role in problem solving programmatic issues relating to patient care.
  • Coordinates patient care by directing treatment team meeting, performing patient assessments, developing a plan of care, prioritizing care according to needs of the patient. Including family and/or s/o, if acceptable.
  • Provide patients treatment with the knowledge, consistency, skills, and genuine concern, in a manner that promotes the patient’s rights.
  • Provide leadership and supervision by assisting Human Resources with hiring, orientation, disciplinary encounters, and termination of personnel as directed.
  • Promotes a good working environment by using effective communication skills, positive attitude toward all, and utilizing proper lines of authority.
  • Utilizes resources available to maintain cost, assists with cost containment training of staff, prepare an annual budget, if needed, coordinate a system to monitor ordering supplies and materials.
  • Promotes an excellent working relationship between physician’s administration, and other department managers, promoting the program in a positive way.
  • Develop and coordinate with assistance of Medical Director, Social Worker, and Community Educator to develop and implement a feasible marketing and community education plan.
  • Monitor referral bases, implementing assessment tools, and providing a plan for follow-up of all patients referred to the program in a timely manner.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with Psychiatric Experience preferred.
  • Two (2) years management and two (2) years Psychiatric Experience Preferred.
  • Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration.

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting for extended periods.
  • Heavy use of computer keyboard.
  • Must be able to lift twenty (20) pounds.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to lead and direct employees to a common goal.
  • Consistently demonstrates a customer service orientation and communicates effectively.
  • Has good interpersonal skills and is able to give clear instructions.
  • Have excellent organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of Federal and State guidelines, managed care contract and credit and collections.
  • High level of interpersonal skills, problem solving, and strong analytic abilities preferred.
