General Summary: The Transporter responsibility is to transport patients safely to and from IOP group sessions.

Essential Functions:

• Completes errands in a timely manner.
• Documents in appropriate nursing records.
• Assists in maintaining a safe and clean environment.
• Assists the nursing staff in providing a caring, compassionate environment.
• Respects patient confidentiality and privacy in accordance with Health Insurance Profitability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
• Demonstrates effective communication skills to treat patients/others with dignity and respect.
• Communicates procedural information to patient/significant others in a way that emotionally supports.
• Using proper channels of communication identifies and reports significant patient information.
• Contributes to patient satisfaction by making customers the priority.
• Actively participates in unit staff meetings and/or teams, assisting in goal formulation, planning, and unit quality improvement activities.
• Assumes responsibility for staying informed about updates and changes to policies by attendance at staff meetings.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• One year in experience in a healthcare setting.
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or must be obtained within thirty (30) days of hire.

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching with arms, finger, and hand dexterity, talking, hearing, and seeing.
• Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling.
• Light work – lifting twenty (20) pounds.
• Medium work – lifting fifty (50) pounds.
• Heavy work – lifting one hundred (100) pounds.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Excellent communication skills.
• Impeccable organization and time management skills.
