Choctaw Regional Medical Center Earns 2025 Performance Leadership Award for Patient Perspective
ACKERMAN, MISSISSIPPI — November 6, 2025 — Choctaw Regional Medical Center is proud to announce that it has been honored with a 2025 Performance Leadership Award for excellence in Patient Perspective, presented by The Chartis Center for Rural Health as part of National Rural Health Day.
This recognition places Choctaw Regional Medical Center among the top 25% of rural hospitals nationwide in patient experience and communication — a reflection of the hospital’s continued commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care.
“We are honored to be recognized by Chartis in the Patient Perspective category of the 2025 Performance Leadership Awards,” said Steve Marinelli, CEO of Choctaw Regional Medical Center. “This recognition is a direct reflection of the hard work and dedication of our staff in ensuring strong patient communication, effective care, and an overall welcoming atmosphere throughout our hospital. Being ranked among the top 25% of rural hospitals across the United States is a testament to our team’s ongoing commitment to providing exceptional care for our patients and community.”
The Performance Leadership Awards are derived from the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX®, one of the industry’s most comprehensive frameworks for evaluating rural hospital performance. INDEX metrics are widely used by rural hospitals, health systems, state offices of rural health, and industry associations to benchmark quality, outcomes, finances, and patient experience.
“The areas of quality, outcomes, and patient perspective are cornerstones of healthcare delivery across rural America, and this year’s Performance Leadership Award recipients are establishing a standard of excellence for their rural peers to follow,” said Michael Topchik, Executive Director of The Chartis Center for Rural Health. “We are delighted to shine a spotlight on such strong performance and honor the achievement of these hospitals on National Rural Health Day.”
At Choctaw Regional Medical Center, this recognition reinforces the hospital’s mission to provide compassionate, accredited, and continuously improving care to Choctaw County and the surrounding region. It serves not only as a milestone, but as a motivating reminder of the hospital’s ongoing commitment to excellence.
