Choctaw Regional Medical Center is proud to announce the first two recipients of the CRMC Nursing Education Scholarship. This scholarship opportunity was open to residents of Choctaw County and hospital employees who wish to obtain or advance a degree in nursing. It awards a monthly stipend to the winners while they pursue their LPN or RN degree.

Monica Potts, LPN, is one of our scholarship winners. Monica resides in Weir, MS and is currently employed full-time at Choctaw Regional Medical Center as our Telehealth Nurse. She is the mother of three (2 girls and a boy) and is enrolled as a full-time student in the Associates Nursing Degree program at Meridian Community College. Following graduation in May 2023, Monica plans to pursue her BSN degree and to grow within CRMC. “The passion I have for helping others makes this more than a job for me. I love being a nurse and I am thankful for the opportunities that have been afforded to me.”, says Monica.

Morgan Fulgham of Weir is also a recipient of the CRMC Nursing Education Scholarship. Morgan is the daughter of Brittne and Adam King and Jonas and Ashley Fulgham. She is a senior at Choctaw County High School and is a member of HOSA and Chamber Choir. Morgan plans to attend the University of Mississippi in the fall where she will major in Allied Health Studies. Upon graduation, Morgan will continue her education at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and complete her degree in nursing. When she learned that she had been awarded the CRMC Nursing Education Scholarship, Morgan stated, “I am very grateful for this opportunity and the people that have given it to me.”
