Price Transparency
CRMC Standard Charges
Choctaw Regional Medical Center is committed to helping patients better understand the cost of their healthcare.
Federal Hospital Price Transparency requirements require hospitals to make information about their standard charges publicly available online. The pricing resources provided on this page are intended to give patients greater access to information about the cost of hospital services and to help them make informed healthcare decisions.
The amount a patient ultimately pays for healthcare services may differ from the hospital’s standard charges. Actual out-of-pocket costs can vary depending on insurance coverage, deductibles, copayments, coinsurance, network participation, the services provided, and other factors related to an individual patient’s care.
Patients with health insurance are encouraged to contact their insurance provider for information about benefits, participating providers, covered services, and expected out-of-pocket costs.
Patients without insurance or those who may need assistance paying for healthcare services may qualify for Choctaw Regional Medical Center’s financial assistance or Sliding Fee Discount Program.
For questions regarding the cost of your care, please contact our Financial Counselors at 662-285-4420, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Estimate the Cost of Your Care
Choctaw Regional Medical Center provides an online price estimation tool to help patients estimate their potential cost for hospital services.
Please remember that an estimate is not a guarantee of the final amount you will owe. Your actual responsibility may vary depending on the services ultimately provided, your insurance benefits, deductible, copayment, coinsurance, and other factors.
Machine-Readable Standard Charges
In accordance with federal Hospital Price Transparency requirements, Choctaw Regional Medical Center makes hospital standard-charge information available in a machine-readable format.
This file is intended primarily for data analysis and includes detailed pricing information for hospital items and services. It should not be considered an estimate of what an individual patient will owe.
What Are Hospital Standard Charges?
Hospitals maintain detailed pricing information for the many inpatient and outpatient items and services they provide. These may include laboratory tests, imaging studies, procedures, medications, supplies, room charges, and other hospital services.
Hospital standard charges generally should not be interpreted as the amount an individual patient will actually pay.
Health insurance companies, Medicare, Medicaid, and other payers may reimburse hospitals according to negotiated or established payment rates. A patient’s financial responsibility is generally determined by those rates together with the terms of the patient’s individual health plan.
Patients without insurance may also qualify for discounts or financial assistance offered by Choctaw Regional Medical Center.
Are Charges the Same for Every Patient?
The price associated with a particular hospital item or service may be the same within a particular pricing category, but the total cost of care can vary significantly from one patient to another.
Factors that may affect the total cost of treatment include:
- The specific services, tests, or procedures required
- The length of a hospital stay
- The complexity of a procedure or treatment
- Medications and supplies required during care
- Additional testing or treatment that becomes necessary
- Complications or other medical conditions that affect treatment
- The patient’s insurance coverage and benefit structure
Because each patient’s situation is different, the final amount owed may differ from an initial estimate.
Is the Hospital Charge the Same as What I Will Pay?
Usually not.
Your actual out-of-pocket responsibility depends on several factors, including your insurance plan, deductible, copayment, coinsurance, network status, and the rates established between your insurance company and Choctaw Regional Medical Center.
For the most accurate information regarding your insurance benefits and financial responsibility, contact your health insurance provider directly.
Patients who do not have health insurance may qualify for discounted services through CRMC’s financial assistance or Sliding Fee Discount Program.
What May Not Be Included in My Hospital Estimate or Hospital Bill?
Some physicians and healthcare professionals who participate in your care may bill separately from Choctaw Regional Medical Center.
Depending on the services you receive, you may receive separate bills from providers such as:
- Your personal or attending physician
- A surgeon
- An anesthesiologist
- A radiologist who interprets imaging studies
- A pathologist or other laboratory professional
- Consulting physicians or specialists
- Other independent healthcare professionals involved in your care
Because these providers may bill independently, their professional fees may not be included in a hospital price estimate.
