We are pleased to announce that Dr. Falan McKnight has joined the Louisville Medical Clinic practice. A native of Weir, MS.
Dr. McKnight graduated from the Mississippi School for Math and Science and continued on to The University of Mississippi. After a brief stint studying Forensic Science at Ole Miss, she transferred to Mississippi State before graduating with a Medical Laboratory Technologist certificate from Vanderbilt University. While working as a MLT at Baptist – Golden Triangle, Dr. McKnight felt called to further her education. Upon acceptance into the M.D. program at UMMC, she knew she had found her calling.
Dr. McKnight always knew she wanted to practice family medicine in a rural setting. When the opportunity at LMC presented itself, she could not pass up the opportunity to follow her passion and be close to home. “I want to treat my patients from cradle to grave.” Dr. McKnight says. “In medical school, women’s health and geriatrics were my favorite specialties. Family medicine allows me to expand on those services and treat the entire patient.” In addition to seeing patients at LMC, she is also rounding on residents at Choctaw Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
The daughter of Jeff and Liz McKnight of Weir, Dr. McKnight has recently purchased a home in Choctaw County. With chickens, doves, and three dogs already on the property, she hopes to add more animals in the future, with plans to have a homestead. In what little spare time she has, Dr. McKnight enjoys crocheting, knitting, drawing, and cooking. Her adventurous side loves kayaking and, after many years away, being close to family is her favorite thing about being home.
Hospital CEO, Steve Marinelli, is excited about the addition of Dr. McKnight to the CRMC family. “Louisville Medical Clinic has an outstanding reputation for providing an extremely high level of care for its patients and I have no doubt she will continue that standard of care.
