Choctaw Regional Medical Center Earns DNV Reaccreditation Through 2028

Ackerman, MS – Choctaw Regional Medical Center (CRMC) is proud to announce its full reaccreditation by DNV Healthcare USA Inc. as a Critical Access Hospital (CAH), effective August 23, 2025. This recognition confirms CRMC’s continued compliance with federal Medicare standards, quality performance expectations, and patient safety measures—ensuring trusted care for the people of Choctaw County and surrounding communities.

What Is DNV Accreditation for a Critical Access Hospital?

DNV Healthcare is one of only a few organizations authorized by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to accredit hospitals. Its NIAHO® (National Integrated Accreditation for Healthcare Organizations) program combines Medicare compliance with the internationally recognized ISO 9001 Quality Management System. For Critical Access Hospitals like CRMC, this model creates a powerful foundation for quality, safety, and operational excellence in rural healthcare settings.

What sets DNV apart is its proactive, annual survey process and continuous improvement philosophy. Accreditation isn’t just a one-time achievement—it’s a journey. DNV hospitals integrate ISO principles like risk-based thinking, internal audits, performance data, and patient feedback to drive real-world improvements across all levels of care.

Accreditation That Reflects Excellence

Following an in-depth survey conducted June 3–4, 2025, and the approval of our corrective plan in July, CRMC was awarded a full three-year reaccreditation valid through August 2028. This also includes our swing bed services for long-term care, affirming our compliance with 42 C.F.R. §485—the federal Conditions of Participation for Critical Access Hospitals.

Raising the Bar for Rural Healthcare

Congratulations to our incredible team for making this possible. Accreditation is not just a credential—it’s a reflection of our ongoing commitment to excellence.” said Steve Marinelli, CEO of Choctaw Regional Medical Center.

This reaccreditation underscores the hospital’s dedication to transparency, improvement, and patient-first care. It also assures patients and families that the services provided at CRMC meet nationally recognized standards.

Our Ongoing Mission

At Choctaw Regional Medical Center, we are proud to serve Choctaw County and beyond with care that’s compassionate, accredited, and continually improving. DNV reaccreditation is more than a milestone—it’s a reflection of who we are and where we’re going.
